How it works.

Our cattle are born and raised on the Prairies, grass-fed and grain finished. Rather than being shipped to large feedlots, our cows stay right here and are fed by hand in our corrals. They’re processed by local butchers and prepared for delivery.

1) Pick your date and size.

We finish our cattle in small batches, which means there are a limited number of bulk orders available for each delivery date. Pick the date that works for you, then measure your freezer and decide whether you want a eigtht, quarter, half, or whole cow. A 20% deposit is due at the time of order.

2) Choose your custom cuts.

We will send cut selection form, which will let you choose how you want your beef prepared. If you are not sure what to pick, don’t worry, we’ll include a list of suggestions. Eighth cows are standardized, all other orders can be customized.

Approximately 21 days before delivery, we’ll send your final invoice for the remaining balance.

3) Answer the door.

Frozen beef shouldn’t sit on your front porch for long. We will contact you to set up a delivery time and then drop off the meat.

Pricing

Home grown, quality Alberta Beef, delivered to your door for $7.50 per pound (hung weight).

Our beef is priced by hanging weight, which is the weight of the animal after initial processing, but before trimming and aging. This is the standard pricing method used across the beef industry.

Hanging weight is typically 60–65% of the animal’s live weight. After processing, your take-home weight will be approximately 35–40% less than the hanging weight. This is due to bone removal, fat trimming, and moisture loss during aging.

We sell our Alberta beef for $7.50 per pound (hanging weight). A 20% deposit based on the estimated total cost is required at the time of ordering. An invoice for the final amount will be sent once the butcher determines the exact hanging weight, about 21 days prior to your scheduled delivery.

How much beef is that?

In each package you will receive a mix of cuts made up of:

  • 20-25% steaks

  • 25-30% roasts

  • 40% ground beef

  • 10% other cuts (short ribs and stew meat)

The graphic below shows the estimated number of cubic feet that will be required to store you order:
